So I know that many of you have been loosing sleep wondering if my fat cells have made it or not….
I still cannot say to be sure. Sorry.
They aren’t dead though, in fact I would even go as far as to say that on Friday they looked a little better (yes, that might be wishful thinking). I am hoping that they are just slow growers and when I go in on Monday morning they will be looking more confluent. Fingers crossed.
My supervisor has now said that I can get more fat next week and even though I wont have time he will grow it up for me, which is great because I will get to practice technique and if I do return to the lab after Christmas for my SSC (student selected component) I should be a pro at cell extraction from fat.
Might put that one on my C.V – “professional fat worker”. hmmm.
Only one week left in the lab now. I am going to miss it a lot. I have managed to secure a morning’s shadowing in the Children’s hospital the following week though, which will be a completely different experience again. And then I really well take a break. honest.
It gets a bit addictive.
In other news, my 3 year old son is trying to work on his comedic talents.
his latest joke:
“what do you call a door with legs?”
at which point he falls about laughing and I start to seriously worry about him! Definitely room for improvement on that front.
